Welcome to Christ Church Gabriola

A Collaborative Anglican-United Church Open to All

St. Martin of Tours Anglican Church and Gabriola United Church recently agreed to form a Shared Ministry on Gabriola Island.

The Shared Ministry Agreement between the two denominations was signed on June 25th, 2017.

Thus was created one church with a new name: Christ Church Gabriola, with the description:
"A collaborative Anglican - United Church - open to all".

The congregation recently approved a call for a new minister. The Rev. Karen Hollis will begin her ministry at Christ Church Gabriola on January 1st. Rev. Hollis has shared some thoughts and pictures with the congregation which can be viewed by clicking here.

The Shared Ministry relationship challenges and enables us to live more purposefully and completely as Christians. It fosters inclusiveness, respect for diversity, wider perspectives of understanding, acceptance of discomforts, a willingness to learn and to grow together in our common faith, and a commitment to care for each other.

Shared ministry provides an opportunity for us to grow both spiritually and in our ministry to the wider community. Click here for an article which appeared in The Sounder.
